Families
Fraudsters may join the site disguised as au pairs. Scams may be cleverly constructed to lure you in to a sense of security, perhaps using bogus referees. Signs to look out for are:
- The au pair seems too good to be true, and may have significant information about their experience and current circumstances that they do not put on the form, but tell you in an email.
- The au pair mentions how short of money they are, but claims lots of experience as a nanny/au pair whilst travelling overseas

The au pair quite quickly invites you to converse with them via an Instant Messenger service, or similar. Certainly they will want to move away from the 1st Class Au Pairs internal communication, which we are able to monitor from time to time
- A request for money up-front from the family to cover travel expenses, perhaps with a promise to repay this out of future pocket money
Please remember one golden rule:
If you send money to anyone overseas in order for them to come and work for you, the chances are that they will not turn up and you will lose your money.
Au Pairs
We continually develop the site to enhance the experience of all of our users, however you must remember that the Internet environment is one in which con artists and fraudsters will try to run scams. We are aware of several cases of stolen credit card details being used to gain family membership. Whilst these members are barred, they will have a short opportunity to make contact with au pair members during this process. Please be very careful, and be particularly cautious where a job offer sounds very good, and/or you are asked by the family, or by the family's travel agent to part with any money for visas, work permits, or travel arrangements.
If you suspect any fraudulent email, please contact us on admin@1stclassaupairs.com. We will investigate and ban such email address from our site.
