About Me

Hi , my name is Suzanne Elliott , I am fifty years old. . I am a mother of three children and I have three
Grandsons.
I have a qualification in mental health nursing, a certificate as a pre-school assistant. I have worked as a midwifery assistant for six years at Southend maternity unit and I am a peer support specialist for breastfeeding .
I believe woman should have the best birth experience that they can possibly receive and while working on the maternity unit strived hard to ensure woman had  the best service I could give to them.
I have also attended an active birth workshop , that was delivered by Andrea Robertson , who is a worldwide famous birth educator and has written quite a few books on the subject . The work shop was very informative and the information I obtained from the course I took back to work with me and used
At some births with very positive results.
When I am not reading up on how to be the perfect doula and attending  courses to improve my skills , I spend time with my grandchildren  and my family. My hobbies include running , swimming ,
And cycling, but do not worry I will not make any new mum run the marathon.
My role as a doula is to ensure the expectant mum receives the correct information  for her pregnancy and birth and to support her, and her family through the birth. I will also provide support
For a short time after the birth and support the new mum with any breastfeeding queries she may have .
I will also support the expectant mum through a high risk pregnancy, as I have worked on the anti-natal ward at Southend hospital and have experience dealing with high risk pregnancies.
