Veblen Wines Analysis

Our investment profile in regard to wine is focused on information, market reaction, strong asset analysis and classical attitudes to investing in wine.

The basic principle in any wine portfolio is to buy great wines that can never be remade.  We focus portfolios around 70% and above on these great wines, which as reserves decrease will only become more desirable and as past trends have shown fetch high prices and massive capital growth.

We also strive to find wines that are undervalued in terms of their quality verses price, allowing growth well above that of the market average.  This means any one particular client portfolio will consist mainly of first growth wines scored at 97 points above and second growth scored at 95 and above.

We also strategically analyse the continuous trading volumes and demand of each wine in the market in working out the current trading price against historical performance of similar wine.

Another strong tool applied is researching wines scored that have room to improve several points in the eyes of the important wine critics (queue Robert Parker), through strong analysis we aim to out perform the already excellent markets capital growth.

At Veblen we believe that it is paramount that clients have information about the wine market. We therefore provide a full monthly report on the activities of the wine market and often in comparison to more traditional investments.

We also provide full portfolio analysis for each client on a tri monthly basis, or on request more regularly, breaking down their holdings and performance also highlighting the present situation with their holdings and prediction on future growth.

With this said we therefore take 10% of the profit on sales thus showing our commitment to utilise clients portfolios completely whether that may be that the client wishes to use this as an investment platform or for a personal store.  If it be the former we try to balance portfolios for our clients to suit their needs.  We can gear portfolios in terms of short, medium and long term.  However, the goal is to build a balanced wine portfolio that utilises growth across the board.
